Employer sponsoring - new options for Perth from August 2011

On 19 July 2011, the Department of Immigration announced  that “the Government will be extending the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme to include Perth".

This means that some people who were not eligible under the employer nomination scheme (subclasses 121 and 856) may be eligible under the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme. For example, the requirements for the level of English and years of professional experience are lower.

At this stage, no legislative changes have been made or any commencement dates specified.
