Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS)
Who can apply?
There are various criteria that need to be met both by the employer and the employee.
As an employer you must get the position approved by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. As part of the requirements, you must show that you have a need for a paid employee and the position to be filled must correspond to an occupation listed on the Employer Nomination Scheme list. The position must provide a full-time employment for at least 3 years and must pay at least the minimum specified salary.
As a prospective employee you must be aged less than 45 years and have basic English knowledge (=vocational English). Depending on the circumstances, these requirements could be waived.
You must have at least 3 years of experience in the nominated occupation. If not, you could still be eligible if other requirements are met (for example if you have worked in that occupation in Australia for at least 2 years, whereof at least 1 year with the current employer)

What can I do with an ENS Visa?
This is a permanent visa which entitles you and your family to live, work and study in Australia.
You are entitled to access Australia's public medical assistance scheme (Medicare). You may also be eligible to access certain social security payments from Centrelink (beware of waiting periods).
You may be eligible for citizenship provided you meet the 4 year residency requirement and all other legal criteria.
